The New Provost at the University of Memphis

Karen Weddle-West has been appointed provost at the University of Memphis in Tennessee. She has been serving as interim provost since last May. Previously, Dr. Weddle-West was vice provost for graduate programs and the director of diversity initiatives at the university. Before coming to the University of Memphis, she served on the faculty at Tennessee State University and Ohio State University.
University of Memphis President M. David Rudd stated that “I have great confidence in Dr. Weddle-West, as I have been impressed by her leadership, vision, energy and commitment to innovation while serving in interim status.”
Dr. Weddle-West holds master’s and doctoral degrees from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville.
