In Memoriam: Susan Clark-Johnson, 1947-2015

Clark-JohnsonSusan Clark-Johnson, a longtime journalist and former professor at Arizona State University, died late last month at a hospital in Scottsdale, Arizona. She was 67 years old.

Clark-Johnson was a graduate of Binghamton University of the State University of New York System. She began her career as a reporter for the Niagara Falls Gazette. She spent more than 40 years in the newspaper business, which culminated with her serving as head of the newspaper division of Gannett Inc., with responsibility for 170 publications across the country.

From 2009 to 2013, Clark-Johnson served as executive director of Arizona State University’s Morrison Institute for Public Policy. She also was a professor of practice at the university’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication.
