Grants or Gifts Relating to Women in Higher Education

Here is this week’s news of grants and gifts that may be of particular interest to women in higher education.
The University of North Carolina at Charlotte has received a $100,000 grant from the MetLife Foundation that will be used to establish a Women in Business Leadership program in the university’s College of Business. The program will include workshops, networking events, and lectures by prominent women in the business world.
Cornell University in Ithaca, New York, has received a $300,000 gift from the estate of Anne LaBastille to establish the Woodswoman Scholarship Fund. The fund will support women doctoral students in conservation or natural resources fields. Dr. LaBastille held a bachelor’s degrees and a Ph.D. from Cornell University. She was an adjunct professor in the department of natural resources at Cornell.
