The New Chair of the Council of Deans of the Association of American Medical Colleges

Marsha D. Rappley, dean of the College of Human Medicine at Michigan State University, was named chair of the Council of Deans of the Association of American Medical Colleges.
Dr. Rappley has been dean of the College of Human Medicine at Michigan State since 2006. She is the first graduate of the college to hold the dean’s position. Prior to her appointment as dean, Dr. Rappley served the college in a number of roles including acting dean, associate dean for academic affairs, interim chair of the Department of Pediatrics and Human Development and director of developmental and behavioral pediatrics and general pediatrics divisions.
Dr. Rappley is a practicing pediatrician and has achieved a national reputation for her research and clinical work with children who have serious learning and mental health conditions.
