Marcella David Named Provost at Florida A&M University

Marcella David was named provost at Florida A&M University in Tallahassee. She has been serving as professor of law and international studies and associate dean in the College of Law at the University of Iowa. Earlier in her career at the University of Iowa, she was special assistant to the president for equal opportunity and diversity and associate provost for diversity.
Elmira Mangum, president of Florida A&M University, stated that ‘Professor David’s extensive leadership experience for nearly two decades, and her exemplary academic career and strategic acumen are well aligned with FAMU’s academic mission and our focus to advance our intellectual environment, build dynamic relationships with key constituencies in the region, increase funding of sponsored programs and activities, and enhance relationships with our faculty, staff, students, alumni, and community.”
David is a graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York. She earned a juris doctorate at the University of Michigan.
