MIT’s Mildred Dresselhaus to Receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom

Mildred Dresselhaus, Institute Professor Emerita of Physics and Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, will be one of 19 individuals to receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom at a White House ceremony on November 24.
Dr. Dresselhaus is native of The Bronx, New York. She is a summa cum laude graduate of Hunter College of the City University of New York. Professor Dresselhaus holds a master’s degree from Radcliffe College and a Ph.D. from the University of Chicago. She has been on the faculty at MIT for more than a half-century.
