Jennine Capo Crucet to Receive the 2015 Hillsdale Award for Fiction

Jennine Capo Crucet, an assistant professor of creative writing at Florida State University in Tallahassee, has been selected as the winner of the 2015 Hillsdale Award for Fiction from the Fellowship of Southern Writers. She will be honored at the Celebration of Southern Literature in Chattanooga, Tennessee, this coming April.
Crucet is the author of How to Leave Hialeah (University of Iowa Press, 2009) and the forthcoming Make Your Home Among Strangers (St. Martin’s Press, 2015).
Crucet is a native of Miami. Her parents were born in Cuba. She is a summa cum laude graduate of Cornell University, where she majored in English.
