Texas Woman’s University to Offer New Doctoral Program in Occupational Therapy

Texas Woman’s University in Denton has announced that it will offer a clinical doctor of occupational therapy degree. The new degree program has received approval from the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board. Most of the course offerings will be online with students required to make one or two visits to campus each semester. Applications are being accepted for this fall.

BrownDiane“The clinical doctorate is becoming the entry-level degree into the occupational therapy profession,” said Dr. Diane P. Brown, program coordinator. “Our program provides the opportunity to work closely with a mentor who has expertise in the student’s area of specialization and who will help the student set a career path in that area.”

Dr. Brown is a graduate of Baylor University. She holds a master’s degree in occupational therapy from Texas Woman’s University and a Ph.D. from the University of North Texas.

Texas Woman’s University is coeducational. But 90 percent of undergraduate students are women, according to the latest Department of Education figures.
