A Pair of Women Appointed to Endowed Professorships

PhilippClareClaire S. Philipp was appointed to the Melvyn, Ab, and Yetta Motolinsky Chair in Hematology at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School at Rutgers University in New Jersey. Dr. Phillip is a professor of medicine and chief of the division of hematology at the medical school. She joined the Rutgers faculty in 1993 after working for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Professor Phillip earned her bachelor’s and medical degrees at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island.

Institute of Sacred Music Yale University Prof. Teresa BergerTeresa Berger is the inaugural Thomas E. Golden Jr. Professor of Catholic Theology at Yale University. She teaches at both the Yale Divinity School and the Yale Institute of Sacred Music. She is the author of several books including Gender Differences and the Making of Liturgical History (Ashgate Publishers, 2011) and Dissident Daughter: Feminist Liturgies in Global Context (Westminster John Knox Press, 2001).

Dr. Berger holds two master’s degree from Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz, Germany. She holds doctoral degrees from Heidelberg University and the University of Munster.
