The Massachusetts Institute of Technology has announced that all new students will be required to complete an online training program that covers sexual harassment, sexual assault, interpersonal violence, and stalking before they arrive on campus. The online program will also educate students on campus policies, procedures, and resources regarding sexual misconduct. Undergraduate students will also attend a seminar during the first-year orientation period that examines issues of consent, communication, healthy sexual behavior, and bystander intervention.
Faculty and staff will also be required to complete an online course on sexual misconduct that is tailored especially for them.
