Mississippi University for Women to Give In-State Tuition to Some Outsiders
Posted on Jun 27, 2014 | Comments 0
The Mississippi University for Women in Columbus is a coeducational institution. But 83 percent of the undergraduate students at the university are women. So any news about the university’s structure and policies is of particular interest to women.
The university has received approval to offer in-state tuition rates to students (either male or female) from the neighboring states of Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana, and Tennessee. Active members of the military, children of MUW alumni, and students within one year of obtaining a degree will also be eligible for in-state tuition rates.
The difference in tuition rates for Mississippi students and those from outside the state are substantial. The in-state tuition rate of $5,640 is just over one third of the rate for those from outside Mississippi, which stands at $15,360.
