Two Women Are Finalists for Dean of the College of Education at the University of New Mexico

The University of New Mexico has announced the selection of four finalists for the position of dean of the College of Education. All four candidates will be visiting the university’s campus by May 1 for interviews and public presentations. Two of the four finalists are women.
Karin Jordan is a professor and chair of the department of counseling at the University of Akron in Ohio. She has been at the University of Akron since 2007. Dr. Jordan is a graduate of Colorado Christian College in Lakewood. She holds a master’s degree in counseling from Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida, and a Ph.D. in child and family development and marriage and family therapy from the University of Georgia.
Valerie Martin Conley is professor and chair of the department of counseling and higher education at Ohio University in Athens. She has been on the Ohio University faculty since 2002. Dr. Conley holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in sociology from the University of Virginia. She earned a doctorate in educational leadership and policy studies from Virginia Tech.
