Phoebe Haddon Named Chancellor of Rutgers University-Camden

Phoebe A. Haddon was selected as the next chancellor of the Camden campus of Rutgers University in New Jersey. The campus, just of east of Philadelphia, enrolls about 4,700 undergraduate students and 1,600 graduate students. Women make up about 55 percent of the undergraduate student body. Dr. Haddon will become chancellor on July 1.
Since 2009 Dr. Haddon has been dean of the Carey School of Law at the University of Maryland. Before becoming dean in 2009, Haddon served on the faculty at the Beasley School of Law at Temple University in Philadelphia. The journal National Jurist has named her one of the “25 Most Influential People in Legal Education.”
Dean Haddon is a graduate of Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts, and the Duquesne University School of Law in Pittsburgh. She also holds a master’s degree in law from Yale Law School.
