Grants or Gifts Relating to Women in Higher Education

Here is this week’s news of grants and gifts that may be of particular interest to women in higher education.
Brown University received a grant of $450,000 from the U.S. Agency of International Development to conduct research on breastfeeding habits among women in rural Kenya. The study will be conducted in conjunction with a research team at Kenyatta University.
The University of Kansas received a grant from the Women’s Foundation of Greater Kansas City to fund its WE Women’s Empowerment initiative. The effort seeks to increase the number of women in leaderships positions in business and government. The grant program is under the direction of Barbara Kerr, the Williamson Family Distinguished Professor of Counseling Psychology at the University of Kansas.
