University of Michigan’s Sexual Assault Prevention and Awareness Center Adds Online Chat Service

The Sexual Assault Prevention and Awareness Center at the University of Michigan has added Advocate Chat to its group of services. In addition to its crisis hotline, one-on-one counseling, and peer-led support groups, students, faculty and staff at the university can now engage in an online chat with trained support personnel. As a result, individuals can obtain information, counseling, and emotional support in a secure anonymous environment.

The chat service is only offered during the hours of 9am to 5pm on weekdays, whereas the group’s crisis hotline is available around the clock.
