Marsha Glines and Kelly Nichols Named Deans

Marsha Glines was appointed dean of the College of Academic Enhancement and Transition at Irish American University in Dublin. She has spent the last 25 years on the staff of Lynn University in Boca Raton, Florida, which founded the Irish American University in 1993 to enhance study abroad opportunities for its students.
Dr. Glines is a graduate of Emerson College in Boston. She holds a master’s degree from Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and a doctorate in higher education administration from the Union Institute and University in Cincinnati.
Kelly K. Nichols was named dean of the School of Optometry at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She currently serves as a professor of optometry and director of the Ocular Surface Institute at the University of Houston. Dr. Nichols is considered a leading expert on dry eye disease. From 2000 to 2011, she served on the faculty in the College of Optometry at Ohio State University. Dr. Nichols will become dean on June 25.
Dr. Nichols earned her doctor of optometry degree from the University of California at Berkeley. She holds a master of public health degree and a Ph.D. in vision science from Ohio State University.
