Scripps College Launches Major Fundraising Effort

Scripps College, the highly rated liberal arts college for women in Claremont, California, has announced the launch of a $175 million fundraising campaign. The campaign’s theme is “More Knowledge, More Truth, More Imagination, Most Justice, More Opportunity.”

Scripps is earmarking 78 percent of the fundraising goal for scholarships, programs, internships, and teaching whereas only 22 percent will be targeted to “bricks and mortar” projects.

The college has raised $82 million of its stated goal during the “quiet phase” of the campaign. More than half of that total has come from members of the college’s board of trustees.
