Duke Neurologist Wins a McKnight Memory and Cognitive Disorder Award

141511_calakos001Nicole Calakos, an associate professor of neurology and neurobiology at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, will share one of four 2014 McKnight Memory and Cognitive Disorder Awards from the McKnight Endowment Fund for Neuroscience in Minneapolis. She will share her award with her Duke colleague Henry Yin, an associate professor of psychology and neuroscience. Along with the award, the Duke researchers will receive a three-year, $300,000 grant to continue their research on habit learning and compulsivity.

Dr. Calakos is a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley. She holds a medical degree and a Ph.D. from Stanford University.
