In Memoriam: Eddie Lewis, 1933-2013

Eddie Lewis, the founder of the international business program at the University of Southern Mississippi, died last week at the Wesley Medical Center in Hattiesburg. She was 80 years old.
Professor Lewis joined the faculty in 1970 and taught at the university for 33 years before retiring in 2003. She was instrumental in establishing an international partnership with Kaetsu University in Japan that includes student and faculty exchanges between the two educational institutions. Professor Lewis was the inaugural holder of the Kaetsu Distinguished Professorship of International Business.
David Duhon, the current holder of the Kaetsu Professorship said that Professor Lewis was a “pioneer and visionary for international and global business education.”
