Cara Nelson Elected Chair of the Society for Ecological Restoration

Cara Nelson, an associate professor of restoration ecology at the University of Montana, has been elected chair of the Society for Ecological Restoration at the group’s world conference in Madison, Wisconsin. The international association has members in 70 nations and publishes the journal Restoration Ecology.
Dr. Nelson also serves as the director of the Wildland Restoration Program at the University of Montana. She is a graduate of Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington. Dr. Nelson holds master’s degrees in forestry and conservation biology from the University of Wisconsin and a Ph.D. in forest ecosystem analysis from the University of Washington.
