Anne Bavier Chosen to Lead the National League of Nursing

Anne Bavier, professor of nursing and medicine in the School of Nursing at the University of Connecticut, was named president-elect of the National League of Nursing. She will serve as president-elect for two years and then will be president of the organization for the next two years. The National League of Nursing, founded in 1893, has more than 39,000 individual members and 1,200 institutional members.
Professor Bavier came to the University of Connecticut in 2007 as dean of the School of Nursing. She served in that role for four years before returning to teaching full-time. Dr. Bavier is the former dean of the School of Nursing at St. Xavier University in Chicago.
Dr. Bavier is a graduate of Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. She holds a master’s degree in nursing from Emory University in Atlanta and a doctorate in nursing from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh.
