New Administrative Posts in Higher Education for Six Women

Michelle Brown was promoted to director of the Academic Support Program for Student Athletes at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton. She was the associate athletic director for academic and student services at the university and director of the Student-Athlete Center for Academic Excellence.
Dr. Brown is a graduate of West Virginia University, where she majored in international studies and French and played volleyball on an athletic scholarship. She earned a master’s degree at the University of Quebec and an educational doctorate at Florida Atlantic University.
Lois Kuyper-Rushing was named interim assistant dean of the libraries at Louisiana State University. Dr. Kuyper-Rushing joined LSU libraries in 1993 as a music librarian.
Dr. is a graduate of Central College in Pella, Iowa. She holds a master’s degree and a doctorate in oboe performance and a master of library science degree from Louisiana State University.
Rosemary Rochford was appointed vice president for research at the College of Medicine at the State University of New York Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse. She has been serving as chair of the department of microbiology and immunology. She has served on the faculty since 2003 and previously taught at the University of Michigan.
Dr. Rochford is a graduate of the University of Maryland and holds a Ph.D. in molecular biology from the University of California at Irvine.
Shannon Campbell was named director of the Trent Lott National Center for Excellence in Economic Development and Entrepreneurship at the University of Southern Mississippi. She has been serving as dean of the Liberal Arts, Industrial Services, and Advanced Technology Center at Jones County Junior College in Ellisville, Mississippi.
Dr. Campbell is a graduate of Mississippi State University. She holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in international development from the University of Southern Mississippi.
Kathy Pharr was appointed chief of staff to Jere Morehead, the president-elect of the University of Georgia. She has been serving as assistant vice president for finance and administration at the university.
Dr. Pharr holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism, a master’s degree in public administration, and a doctorate in higher education management, all from the University of Georgia.
Sheila T. Lischwe was named director of sponsored programs in the Division of Research at Clemson University in South Carolina. She was director of the Office of Research Development and Services at Saint Louis University.
Dr. Lischwe is a graduate of St. Bonaventure University in New York. She holds an MBA from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville and a master’s degree in urban affairs and a doctorate in higher education administration from Saint Louis University.
