Checking on the Faculty Gender Gap at Big Ten Universities

A study published in the student newspaper at Ohio State University finds that Ohio State ranks last among the 12 universities in the Big Ten Conference in percentage of women on its faculty. Women are only about one third of the faculty at Ohio State, according to the report.
In contrast, seven of the 12 universities in the Big Ten conference have faculties where women are a majority. The University of Iowa leads all other Big Ten universities in the percentage of women on its faculty. At the University of Iowa, women make up nearly 64 percent of the total faculty.

I hadn’t seen this study reported elsewhere but I am curious if the other institutions ranked so well because of the number of females hired into adjunct or temporary positions – not those on the TT. I guess I would need more info for how they defined “faculty”.
