Carol Mullen to Lead the School of Education at Virginia Tech

Carol A. Mullen was named the director of the School of Education at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in Blacksburg. She will also serve as associate dean for professional education in the College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences at the University. For the past five years, Dr. Mullen has served as the chair of the department of educational leadership and cultural foundations in the School of Education at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She will begin her new job at Virginia Tech in July.
Dr. Mullen is the former editor of the journal Mentoring and Tutoring: Partnership in Learning. She is the author of From Student to Professor: Translating a Graduate Degree Into a Career in Academia (Rowman & Littlefield, 2012) and co-author of Educational Leadership at 2050: Conjectures, Challenges, and Promises (Rowman & Littlefield, 2012).
Professor Mullen is a graduate of York University in Toronto. She earned a master’s degree and a doctorate in education at the University of Toronto.
