Two Women Named to Endowed Chairs

Isabel Gauthier was appointed to the David K. Wilson Chair of Psychology at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. She was the only woman among nine appointees to endowed chairs at the university. Dr. Gauthier is also an associate professor of radiology and radiological sciences at the university.
Professor Gauthier holds a Ph.D. in psychology from Yale University.
Tamar Gendler was named the Vincent J. Scully Professor of Philosophy at Yale University. Professor Gendler joined the Yale faculty in 2006 and currently chairs the philosophy department. She is the author of Thought Experiments: On the Powers and Limits of Imaginary Cases (Routledge, 2000) and Intuition, Imagination, and Philosophical Methodology (Oxford University Press, 2010).
Professor Gendler is a summa cum laude graduate of Yale University. She holds a Ph.D. from Harvard University.
