Knox College Professor Honored for Her Scholarship on Women in Music

Sarah Day-O’Connell, an associate professor of music at Knox College in Galesburg, Illinois, received the Pauline Alderman Award from the International Alliance for Women in Music.
Professor Day-O’Connell, who has been on the Knox College faculty since 2005, was honored for her paper, “The Composer, the Surgeon, His Wife, and Her Poems: Haydn and the Anatomy of the English Canzonetta,” which was published in the journal Eighteenth Century Music, a publication of Cambridge University Press.
Dr. Day-O’Connell is a graduate of Oberlin College in Ohio. She holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in musicology from Cornell University.
