Sharon Mosher of the University of Texas to Lead the American Geosciences Institute

Sharon Mosher, the William Stamps Frish Chair and dean of the Jackson School of Geosciences at the University of Texas at Austin, was elected president of the American Geosciences Institute. The institute is a nonprofit federation of geoscientific and professional associations that represent 250,000 geologists, geophysicists, and earth scientists.
Professor Mosher has been a full professor at the University of Texas since 1990. She holds a bachelor’s degree and a Ph.D. in geology from the University of Illinois. She also holds a master’s degree from Brown University.
