The New Leader of the College of Nursing at the University of Rhode Island

Mary Sullivan was named interim dean of the College of Nursing at the University of Rhode Island. She was serving as director of graduate education at the nursing school. Dr. Sullivan’s research involves health issues related to premature birth. She has been continually studying the health of one group of infants born prematurely 24 years ago.
In addition to her duties at the University of Rhode Island, she is an adjunct professor at the Alpert Medical School at Brown University and a research scientist at Women and Infants Hospital in Providence.
Dr. Sullivan is a graduate of Salve Regina University in Newport, Rhode Island. She holds a master’s degree from the University of Nebraska and a doctorate in nursing from the University of Rhode Island.
