Louisiana State University Names a New Director for Its Women’s Center

Summer Steib is the new director of the Women’s Center on the Baton Rouge campus of Louisiana State University. The Women’s Center promotes the advancement of women’s issues and gender equity through its services, advocacy efforts, and educational programs; provides support, referral and information to students, faculty, and staff on issues and concerns related to women; and connects LSU and community members with local, state, national and international resources.
Steib is the former director of education and training at the Capital Area Family Violence Intervention Center in Baton Rouge. She is a graduate of the University of Louisiana Lafayette and holds a master’s degree in women’s studies from the University of Alabama.
