Esther Terry to Lead Bennett College for Women

Bennett College for Women in Greensboro, North Carolina, has announced that Esther Terry has been appointed as interim president of the historically Black college. She is the first alumna of the college to serve as president of the educational institution. For the past three years, she has been provost and vice president for academic affairs at Bennett College. Previously, she served for nearly four decades on the faculty at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
Dr. Terry is a 1961 graduate of Bennett College. She earned a master’s degree in English from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Ph.D. from the University of Massachusetts.
